September 2019 One Fly Contest
Where - Gunpowder Falls, Md
When - September 14, 2019, Saturday @ 7:30 am - 12:00 noon.
1st Place Winner Prize: Bob Dietz is the 1st Place Winner with total 19inches, one 10” and one 9” brown trout with a hares ear flymph on the lower Masemore section. The trout caught in low riffles. It’s been awhile since Bob has won, but he is back on top again. He wins bragging rights for 1 year.
Participates:
Mike Abramowitz – micro midge; Bob Dietz – hares ear flymph; Randy Dwyer – Griffith gnat; Jed Feffer – Griffith gnat (all the way from Vermont); Lou Reichel – renegade; Joe Taylor – hare ear soft hackle.
The day was overcast, cool in the morning and few rain sprinkles later. The flow of Gunpowder was a good 100 csf earlier in the week, but today it was way down to 20 csf and low. Both Randy and Jeff caught one trout to show they are in the running for next year. Jeff’s caught a brook trout.
Afterwards we met at Casa Mia's for lunch.
